POP-UP CALL FOR ENTRIES - CLOSED
The Triangle’s first creative-community designed mini golf course and bar is coming Spring 2019 to Durham!
Our vision is locally-inspired recreation that celebrates Durham and invites our community to play together. Mini golf is a great excuse for people of all ages, physical abilities and backgrounds to put down their devices and play together. Mini golf is affordable, informal and doesn't require any preparation to enjoy.
We aim to:
Provide beautiful, fun, affordable and accessible recreation to Triangle residents and visitors
Introduce the idea of art as recreation (and recreation as art)
Foster community connection among people of different ages, races and backgrounds
Entice people to get offline and get outside
Showcase local artists
Engage Durham’s creativity
Bull City Mini is currently seeking members of the creative community (if you’re wondering if you qualify, you do!) to participate in our first call for entries for mini golf hole and obstacle designs. The submission process is simple - winning submissions will be adapted, “made playable” and professionally fabricated for outdoor durability. Contributors of selected designs will receive a stipend and fun perks like free passes and invitations to Artists Night where you can “host your hole”.
Submissions will be judged for creativity and originality by Bull City Mini owners, Julie Bryce and Ben Owens, mini golf experts and bloggers Tom Loftus and Robin Schwartzman, and members of the arts community.
The deadline for submission is December 19th, 2018. Several information sessions will be held, in-person and online.
The theme is Durham Landmarks in Miniature and is open to creative interpretation.
